The Red Hill Council works in conjunction with the town of Carbondale and the Bureau of Land Management to maintain our current trail system and keep it open to the various uses. In the winter and spring, we routinely work to prevent trail damage through messaging about avoiding wet trails. When the spring melt occurs, we turn our efforts to encouraging good trail etiquette and pet management, including dog waste removal. We also thoughtfully consider how we can expand the trail system, build new trails, and keep our community engaged with  and loving Red Hill.

Please understand that we do not do any maintenance work at Red Hill without careful consideration and applied knowledge of all the minor intricacies, learned by investing thousands of hours working, hiking, and riding these trails in all seasons for decades. Regardless of what we do, someone is always impacted personally and takes offense, we have learned. If you have feedback or would like to get involved, please engage with us on our facebook page or reach out at redhillcouncil@gmail.com. The facebook page is also the best place for dialog around trail conditions and updates, so if you see something that needs attention, please make it known.
